This paper investigates the semantic closeness between the Records in Contexts - Conceptual Model (RiC-CM) and the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CIDOC-CRM). The research aims to establish a bridge between these two conceptual models, enabling interoperability and seamless integration of data. In this context, we define a mapping of (1) the main RiC-CM entities (focusing on the record-related entities) to CIDOC-CRM entities, (2) the main RiC-CM attributes to CIDOC-CRM (paths of) properties and entities, and (3) the (mainly, record-related) relations of RiC-CM to CIDOC-CRM (paths of) properties and entities. With this research, we achieve a deeper understanding of the semantic relationship between the two models.
